When I began training as a massage therapist, it never occurred to me that the breath could be powerful medicine, after all, do we not all breathe? Experience has taught me otherwise.
Using your breath we can work together, giving your body cues and guides to get actively involved with the process of tension release and re-balancing.
Breath work allows me to at times penetrate deeper into restricted areas without needing more pressure (resulting in physical trauma to the soft tissues), and in a more lasting and profound way.
Breathing correctly is sadly no longer a commonly held skill, yet doing so allows the body to enter into a more relaxed and calm state, so breathing plays a big part in the education I share with you about your body and wellbeing.
