Coaching is the therapeutic relationship between you and me, to facilitate real and lasting change in one or more area of your life. I help you discover tools to clarify your goal; enhance problem solving skills; and empower you to reach your desired potential, always with caring, motivational support.

By shining a light into the dark corners of our unconscious minds, by naming and understanding what and why we feel, and think, and act as we do, we are able to re-frame or totally rewrite the rule book, and then with ease, reach our goals and the life we could only dream of before.

Wellbeing Coaching

There comes a point where we simply don't know what we don't know, and as a qualified Wellbeing Coach, I know exactly where and when to give you a little more.

 

When it comes to health and wellbeing, it helps to have a specialist supporting you. As an iLm Wellbeing coach, working with me will support you with over a quarter of a century of professional training and experience within nursing and allied health, as well as being a qualified Specialist in ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia recovery.

A wellbeing coach differs slightly to a pure coach, in that we have been trained to know exactly when and how to use our professional knowledge that as a client, you simply wouldn't know otherwise. 

As with pure coaching, I will never instruct or advise you to take any course of action, however, I am at liberty to offer specific and tailored suggestions, that you are invited to further explore if you wish.

Food & Nutrition Coaching

6 one-hour sessions over

Food & Nutrition can be such a mine field! One person tells you to eat like this, while their neighbour says the opposite.

The thing is, that neither is wrong, they are just creating a diet that suits some people, and that may, or may not include you!

So many people now suffer from a myriad of digestive issues, and each one is a unique puzzle to understand and explore.

Did you also know that food and nutrition are at the root of your mental and emotional wellbeing? Your clarity of thought and energy levels are critically affected by what you eat. 

You immune system can be boosted or kicked by the food and supplement choices you make.

I can help you find what works for you, and your body looking at not just the foods and supplements you choose, but also knowing your minds view of health, wellness and mealtimes.

Life Coaching

Pure coaching has been around for many years now, and is becoming more and more widely used and appreciated.  It is built on the premise that each of us knows all we need to in order to be able to achieve our dreams. However,  sometimes we need help to find those answers within us.

Many of us have experienced a time when we have really wanted to create a change in our lives, and have tried everything we can think of to achieve it, yet have ended up either giving up or settling for a part win. This can feel very unsatisfactory, and is known to lead to a more fatalist, external locus of control and inability to make changes in the future, even if the changes are critical.

Coaching helps you to be really clear on what you want, to develop a compelling view of the future, both if you do, and if you do not achieve your intentions, and then helps you clear the path and set a clear road map of how to be the winner you desire and deserve to be.

​I work with a multi-disciplinary team of trauma informed, pain recovery specialists to ensure that what ever area you need specialist help in, I can get the right person to you. 

In my team, I have Chrysalis Effect Specialist Practitioners, most of us have ourselves recovered, but all have in-depth specialist training in the recovery program. We work together to make sure that every aspect of your life critical to making that full recovery is covered. 

Some of you may only need to work with me along with the Chrysalis Effect recovery program, while others will need additional specialist support. Each client has their own bespoke, dynamic, wrap around recovery pathway created, and remains in full control of who they see, and when they see them. I will be with you every step of the way to guide and support you

Student Coaching

Student Coaching is a special package put together specially for students in Higher Education.

Many students experience real struggle, having to manage their workload, self care, and trying to have the promised "Time of Your Life" experience, and all on a budget that's often below the poverty line.

Suddenly becoming fully responsible for every aspect of your life at the same time as dealing with a massive workload, often new friendships, new locations.... the challenges are many, multi-layered, and can seem huge.

But they are not insurmountable with the right support, the right approach, and the real desire to succeed.

Student Coaching supports discovery of your best personal coping and management strategies, enabling you to absorb more positive learning and experiences as you study for your qualifications to spring board you to the life you want!

Coaching, Counselling or Mentoring?

Counselling, coaching and mentoring are often confused, as sometimes they all seem to be creating the same sort of change within us.  I am a trained coach and mentor, not a counsellor, and feel it is important to make that clear.

 

Coaching is a time limited relationship between client and practitioner to achieve an identified goal or outcome.  The coach need not be an expert in the outcome arena, but uses specific tools to empower the client in a collaborative approach to achieve their own expressed desires. This is the structure that sessions with me are created on.

 

Mentoring is usually a long term more instructive and generalized relationship that is often more directive and educational or instructional in some way. This technique is used to some extent in all my coaching and support programs.

 

Counselling is a talking therapy that involves a trained therapist listening to you and helping you find ways to deal with emotional issues (www.nhs.uk). 

How Many Sessions?

In line with CMI guidelines, built on years of research and success, I offer initial packages of 6 hour long coaching sessions for Life, Wellbeing Nutrition and Student Coaching. Generally these are best spaced between weekly and fortnightly intervals, with the ideal being fortnightly for most people and situations.

Fatigue Recovery Support Coaching requires 9 sessions to run alongside the full recovery program. Weekly sessions are not recommended as the sessions require deep introspection and integration to create meaningful and lasting change.

The sky is the limit of what I can help you with, all we need is your commitment to yourself and our sessions together. I use questions, humour, challenge and positive focus in each of our interactions, and require accountability from you that you will complete the tasks that you yourself chosen to commit to.
