Questions you need to ask your therapist

Ask any therapist or practitioner who claims to be able to help you the following questions:

  1. Do you have an accreditation or qualification specifically in M.E, CFS and Fybromyalgia recovery?

  2. Is that qualification recognized by the leading professional bodies?

  3. Do you undertake CPD (Continuing Professional Development), and Clinical Supervision in M.E, CFS and Fybromyalgia?

  4. Can you explain exactly what is causing so may symptoms in my body?

  5. Do you have a clear map of where I am right now, and at any point in in my recovery process?

  6. Do you treat all symptoms yourself, or do you work within a specialist team and cross refer?

  7. Do you have a step by step system or recovery plan that can be tailored to my own personal needs?

  8. Do you offer between appointment support?

  9. Would I have access to other people who are recovering too?

  10. Can you put me in contact with those who have already completely recovered?

  11. Can I access support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year?

  12. Do you know which therapies might make me feel worse?

  13. Do you have tools to assess and review my progress?

  14. Do you have a clear up-front pricing structure for my recovery plan?

  15. Do you offer the opportunity to spread costs of on-going support?

  16. Have you had personal experience of M.E., CFS or Fybromyalgia?

  17. Do you have personal experience of the recovery journey?

  18. Do you consider yourself "Good Value"?
