Introduction to Greenwood Holistic Health Group
In this conversation between members of Greenwood Holistic Health Group we discuss the blocks to healing from longer term chronic disease such as fatigue and how a multidisciplinary approach can help. When we understand the mind and body are not separate and that what happens in the external world (environment) and the internal world (toxins and stress) influence your experience of health or disease, we can approach healing in a completely new way. hear about what each of us believes about a holistic vision of health and how we work within our own individual fields to bring that about.
Patricia Worby Alchemy Therapies - conversation 32
In this 30 min video I talk my good friend and colleague Carol Greenwood about the collective trauma that has changed our view of eachother from safety to potential threat and the neurobiological consequences of that: Isolation Numbing Attack Polarisation/separation I also cover what needs to be one to reverse this trend.
Greenwood Holistic Health Group
In this 36 min video I and my colleagues from Greenwood Holistic Health Group discuss the risk factors for long covid and associated health conditions of post-viral fatigue. When we look at any state of health as along a continuum we begin to see that many factors may predispose us to illness without us necessarily showing signs of inflammatory processes - so called 'silent inflammation'. Many seemingly health people have this going on with gut issues, dry skin, back pain, etc. and then if they are under a lot of stress from toxins, exercise, emotional stress, etc. their immune system cannot fight the virus and they end up suffering longer term symptoms. In this wide ranging group discussion we look at this from a macro (environmental/social) and micro (cellular) level and what needs to happen so that healing can complete. Breathing to support our lung health, and increase calm
Breathing is something we all tend to take for granted, but not many adults know how to breathe healthfully anymore. In these times of threat from respiratory infections such as Covid, we are becoming aware of the need for improved practice to keep our lungs clear and strong, and to help reduce that feeling of anxiety and overwhelm. It is so important that you seek consent and agreement from your medical practitioner or specialist prior to commencing any new movement practice to ensure you are fit and safe to do so.
Carol of Greenwood Therapies shows you really simple moves to help loosen a tight neck.
It’s important to only use any of these moves with the consent of your medical practitioner or specialist. Any risk of compounding injury is reduced by keeping movements very slow, and never making a movement beyond your range of comfortable, but it is critical to have had a qualified practitioner assessment before embarking on any new movement practice. Tight buttocks? Difficulty raising your knees? Maybe try this.
It is Morgantown to get clearance and agreement from your medical practitioner or specialist before embarking on a new movement practice. Many of us who spend a lot of time sitting at a desk or in a car, as well as those who spend too much time standing, will discover tight buttocks with a quick pressure exploration. To help ease these restrictions, which will allow your body to become more supple and your movements more fluid and easy, try this simple practice. As with all the practices I share, it’s imperative that you keep your movements slow, and within comfort to enable the softening to take full effect. Little and often is better that anything.
Easy gentle release for tight lower back and hips
As with all the movement practices I share, it’s important that you get clearance and support from your medical practitioner or specialist prior to embarking on a new movement practice. Risk of compounding injury can be reduced by following my instructions, moving slowly, and keeping within comfort. These 2 simple stretches for the front and back of your legs and hip girdle are staged to enable you to work within your comfort level from very tight and restricted, right up to bendy with easy movement.
Tight shoulders and upper back but no one to give you a massage?
It’s important to always seek consent from your medical practitioner or specialist prior to commencing any new movement practice. Working slowly and always within comfort, using tennis balls and a pair of socks or tights in this way can provide relief from up back tension.
